ABOUT TANGO PORTEÑO
TANGO PORTEÑO
Tango Porteño Show is a spectacular celebration of Buenos Aires and Argentine culture, offering one of the most impressive tango experiences in the city. Set inside a magnificent restored theater, the show combines the glamour of classic tango with a modern, theatrical production that captivates audiences from start to finish.
In addition to tango, the show highlights the richness of Argentina’s cultural heritage with outstanding demonstrations of gaucho folklore dances. These energetic performances add rhythm, color, and contrast to the evening, offering a broader perspective on the country’s traditions beyond tango.
Located just steps away from the iconic Obelisk, Tango Porteño enjoys a privileged location in the very heart of Buenos Aires. The venue is home to one of the largest and most renowned tango productions in the city, featuring an expansive stage, elaborate costumes, dramatic lighting, and a live orchestra that recreates the authentic sound of the golden age of tango.
At Tango Porteno Show is the recreation of the spirit of the 30s and 40s, the golden age of tango, and witness of the creations of the main classics of this unique music. The scenography becomes another member of the cast faithfully recreating the great salons of the Golden Age of tango, and there are also picturesque representations of the slums and the low neighborhoods that were the cradle of the beloved tango.
The show begins! Tango Porteño takes you on a journey through the dazzling history of the tango with a live band and impressive screens showing pictures of its development. Onstage, internationally-renowned dancers show passion and incredible precision.
